As I was rushing around getting last minute things at a few stores I may, or may not, have heard myself say," Stop talking out loud to yourself....there are people around."
If that is not the epitome of a person your mother told you to stay away from, I do not know what is.
The really sad part about this all, as if you weren't already shaking your head and clicking your tongue crooning, "The poor dear.", is that I caught myself talking out loud again shortly after I had advised myself otherwise.
OK now. NOW it is highly appropriate, and expected, for any poor dears you may be thinking.
