Tennyson and Sanders are on a schedule that is slowly draining all the energy out of me. It doesn't matter when they are put into their beds they will wake up sometime between 5:30 AM and 6:20 AM. That is SO early.
That makes them oh so pleasant during the last few hours of the day.
We've tried everything.
I am ramping up my prayers at nice spending a significant amount of time on the subject.
Sooner or later they are going to learn that sleep is good.
Watch them be the hardest to wake up when they hit the teenage years.
Yesterday at 5:45am, Tennyson told me after I got very frustrated with him for getting out of his bed for the millionth time to turn his light on (Come on people....it was 5:45 AM!!!! There was no way I wasn't going to try everything within my power to get him back to sleep), "Mom, do you know WHY I have to keep turning my light on?"
"No. Why?"
"Because I can't find my alarm clock."
Um....I think having a clock that wakes people up is the last thing he needs.

I have heard of clocks for kids which show a moon when they should be sleeping and a sun when they can get out of bed. Maybe he wants one of those?
Oh Emilie, that does sound exhausting... I don't like my kids to show their faces until at least 7:30am... sometimes they show up far too early for my taste.
Hope the prayers kick in soon. ;)
That's a terrible schedule to deal with. I am so sorry. I would choose sleep over anything else offered in my life, most of the time. I do love a late game night with kids, or an occasional early morning with grand kids, but mostly I would choose sleep.
Em I totally feel your pain. Easton was like that pretty much his whole life until october, now he sleeps longer, but when he stopped waking up early then Gretchen started and now I have a baby. If you find a solution let me know. Good Luck!
I would DIE! I am NOT a nice person before 7am, and that personality keeps on giving ALL day.
I've had a few friends that had success (probably won't work with your youngest) buying a clock that projects the time on the ceiling. They trained their kids that they're not allowed to come out of their room until the clock says seven zero zero. One of my friends never did have luck getting them to actually fall back to sleep that way, but she finally gave into it a bit and told him he could turn on his light at whatever time (6 or 6:30), but had to play quietly in his room until seven zero zero.
That totally made me laugh out loud. Not your situation but the remark about the alarm clock. I have an early riser too. We just make sure the channel of the TV is on qubo before we go to bed and he can just get up and turn on cartoons until us normal people wake up.
